Iam use freebsd 7.1

1. Upgrade FreeBSD ports collection

# portsnap fetch

# portsnap extract

2. Now you can install

#cd/usr/ports/databases/mysql51-server

#make install clean

#cp /usr/local/share/mysql/my-small.cnf /etc/my.cnf

#rehash

#/usr/local/bin/mysql_install_db --user=mysql
